Which of course made her want to make one... so out came the cardboard, the textas, a glue-stick and 'bits' to stick on.
When we got to 'creating' time she wasn't interested in gluing (she has done a lot of that recently) so instead we focused on the writing and drawing.
We made several cards...
but I also started teaching her to copy over her name over and over and over again. By the third time Miss 2 got pretty good.
I know 'snail mail' isn't as popular these days but it can be a lot of fun for little ones... especially the part where the get to 'post' it in the letterbox...

My kids love letter writing (and receiving mail). It seems to be a lost or dying art, which is such a shame. I still prefer hand-written letters over email.
ReplyDeleteOh thats great.
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog. just wish I had more energy and motivation to do this stuff with my Miss 2. But I just dont have it at the moment- nor the patience to do it.
I love snail mail. I have so many memories of snail mail writting and recieving as a child.
