This is an idea that I found while watching playschool (I love that show!). Miss 2 and I loved exporing the rock pool, talked about what lives there and what it looks like.
I made a little rock pool from play dough. It would have been better to use yellow or brown playdough but I didn't have any at wanted to use some that I already had.
Most of these things I made from items I had in our craft box.
The turtle: made from an egg carton and green paper.
The crab: made from an egg carton, red paper and googly eyes.
Water and fish: blue cellophane and orange paper
A sea anemone (hope that is the correct spelling!): wool and googly eyes
A sail boat: milk bottle lid, blue-tak, a straw and paper
A startfish: Bubble wrap and yellow paint (bad photo below... it was yellow)
Seaweed and shell: green crepe paper and a shell from the beach
A fun, learning opportunity... looking forward doing it again.
