Easter for us

Easter means different things to different people. For some it is a great time to spend with family, eat some chocolate or go on an egg hunt with your kids. Others love the chance for a long weekend (yay!). There might be some of you who don't do anything special for Easter.

For us it is a time to celebrate Jesus' death and coming to life again. But that doesn't mean we don't have fun!

I've been busy with Miss 2 doing lots of fun Easter themed crafts and activities and I am planning more! This year we will do an Easter egg hunt... which I can't wait to do with the girls.

Instead of a chocolate gift, we have bought each of the girls a book from Koorong, a tradition we started back in 2010. Both our girls love books so this is something that they will love.

I have also been downloading some free Easter printables for Miss 2 to do.

What does Easter mean to you?

  1. Easter is about Jesus for us! But I would love to know how you explain it to your 2 year old, as I haven't really explained that Jesus died because I am afraid to broach the subject of death with my kids! Tips?! :) My daughter's nearly 4, my son 18 months.

    1. Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog. If you take a look at my post today you will see that I tried to explain a little about what I do with my girls.
I've always been taught that the 'death talk' should be approached honestly and in a language that the kids can understand. As a Christian I'm not afraid of death because I have eternal life through Jesus. If my kids were scared that is what I would tell them, that we have heaven to look forward to... Jesus will be waiting for them!
I hope you find my post helpful.
