What my kids teach me

I am a teacher.
In my other lifetime anyway.
Teaching is in my nature.
I like to teach.
I do it without thinking with my girls.
I want to teach them.
I love teaching them.
Everyday.
But I've also been taught a lot from them.

My girls teach me patience- because they work at a different pace than I do.
My girls teach me to be gentle- because I have two beautiful sets of eyes watching me and learning from me.
My girls teach that there is a time for everything and it might not be now- because there are only so many hours in a day.

My girls teach me to love and keep on loving- because we have a God who loves us.
My girls teach me to sacrifice and to be content with it- because that comes with the job.
My girls teach me to make decisions and feel happy that I made them for the right reasons- because you live and you learn as parents.
My girls teach me to expect less- from myself and from others.
My girls teach me to smile more- because otherwise I might cry.
My girls teach me to love and appreciate my husband more- because he gives and gives and loves and loves and then loves some more.
My girls teach me that life is worth more with them in it- because my children are my world.
