Day 18 Dough ornaments

This afternoon we made Christmas dough ornaments for our Christmas tree. I've been wanting an excuse for years to make these and finally I was able to (Yippee!)

The recipe for the dough is basic;
* 4 cups of plain flour
* 1 cup of salt
*1 & 1/2 cups of warm water
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 165 degrees C.
2. Mix flour and salt and gradually add water- stirring with a large spoon. Finish off the mixing with your hands.
3. Roll out dough and cut Christmas shapes with cookie cutters. Then place them on cookie sheets and use a straw to make a hole in the top of each ornament for threading string afterwards. Bake until hard- for roughly an hour.
4. Decorate with paint and varnish to preserve.

Four more days left of '22/2'- 22 Christmas activities for your 2 year old!
